Dr. Bo Li is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Statistics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is also a Richard and Margaret Romano Professorial Scholar. She received her PhD in Statistics from Texas A&M University in 2006, and then became a Post-Doc at National Center for Atmospheric Research. She joined the Purdue faculty in 2008 and moved to UIUC in 2013. Dr. Li’s research mainly focuses on spatial and spatiotemporal statistics and environmental statistics concerning climatology, atmospheric sciences, public health, forestry and agriculture. Her research has been funded by the NSF, NIH, NASA and Sandia National Laboratories. Dr. Li received the Young Investigator Award and later the Distinguished Achievement Award in the American Statistical Association (ASA) Section on Statistics and the Environment. She was also the 2020 H. O. Hartley Award winner from Texas A&M University and is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. She currently serves as the Chair for the ASA section on Statistics and the Environment.
