Important information for proposers

All proposals must be submitted in accordance with the requirements specified in this funding opportunity and in the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) that is in effect for the relevant due date to which the proposal is being submitted. It is the responsibility of the proposer to ensure that the proposal meets these requirements. Submitting a proposal prior to a specified deadline does not negate this requirement.

This is a site map of the current Arecibo Observatory site. It includes the most recent update to the National Register nomination (2020) to view contributing and non-contributing resources.

Arecibo Observatory is a Historic District, with 15 contributing properties (buildings/structures) and 19 noncontributing properties that collectively form this Historic District; for any funding action that could affect the integrity of this Historic District, NSF is required by the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) to consult with the State Historic Preservation Officer and other consulting parties, prior to any funding decision, and to develop measures to avoid, minimize, or mitigate adverse effects.
