In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-463, as amended), the National Science Foundation announces the following meeting.

NAME:   LIGO Annual Review for Physics (1208)

DATE AND TIME:   Wednesday, November 9, 2005; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

                                     Thursday,  November 10, 2005; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

                                      Friday, November 11, 2005; 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

PLACE:                       California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA.

TYPE OF MEETING:  Closed.

PURPOSE OF MEETING:  To provide a review and recommendations concerning to the National Science Foundation on the Advanced LIGO proposal.

AGENDA:  To hear presentations from LIGO Laboratory scientists and from LIGO Scientific Collaboration scientists, on the Advanced LIGO proposal, and to provide a report based on this information.

REASON FOR CLOSING: The Advanced LIGO proposal contains proprietary or confidential material, including technical information on personnel.  These matters are exempt under 5 U.S.C. 552b (c) (2) (4) and (6) of the Government in the Sunshine Act.
