EducateAI and Computing in Undergraduate Education (IUSE:CUE) Webinar

About this event

The Computing in Undergraduate Education (IUSE:CUE) program is providing information on the newly revised solicitation (NSF 24-553) and connection with the recently published EducateAI Dear Colleague Letter (NSF 24-025).

The IUSE:CUE program aims to better prepare a wider, more diverse range of students to collaboratively use computation across a range of contexts and challenging problems. With this solicitation, the National Science Foundation focuses on re-envisioning how to teach computing effectively to a broad group of students, in a scalable manner, with an emphasis on broadening participation of groups who are underrepresented and underserved by traditional computing courses and careers.

The EducateAI Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) encourages the submission of novel and high impact proposals to the IUSE: CUE program that advance inclusive computing education that prepares undergraduate students for the AI workforce. CISE and EDU encourage proposals that develop, implement, and/or evaluate strategies that prepare faculty to incorporate AI material into computing courses in ways that a) enable students to progress in AI education pathways, b) are responsive to the quickly changing needs of the AI workforce, c) and aim to broaden participation in the AI workforce.

Additionally, EducateAI supports the goals of the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) pilot initiative, which aims to democratize access to the computational, data and related educational resources needed for AI research and education. In addition to learning and curricular specific activities, proposers can indicate needs or propose supporting infrastructure for AI-related computational, data, model or other resources, and associated with classroom education and workforce training to accomplish the project's goal.

With this updated solicitation, the next due date will be May 30, 2024.

The webinar will include a briefing on the IUSE:CUE program, key solicitation requirements, connection to EducateAI, and how to request computing and education resources through the NAIRR pilot initiative followed by a question-and-answer session.
