About the series
The NSF Day at the University of Alabama Birmingham, originally scheduled for Jan. 17, 2018, was cancelled due to weather and travel concerns. Thankfully, NSF, the University of Alabama Birmingham and Alabama EPSCoR were able to reschedule this event for Tues., May 1st, 2018. It will be in the same location (UAB Hill Center) and at the same time as before (7:30 am to 6 pm). Nearly all of the same NSF program managers scheduled for Jan. 17th will still be attending. In addition, an expert on translational research such as SBIR, STTRs and ICORPs will also participate. We are excited to reschedule this important event and hope to see you all there! Breakfast, lunch and snack will be provided.
NSF Days provide basic insight and instruction on how to compete for NSF funding for science, engineering and education research. This day-long workshop will provide background on the Foundation, its mission, priorities, and budget. During the day, we will give an overview on proposal writing, NSF's merit review process, and programs that fall within our seven scientific and engineering directorates, as well as funding opportunities that cross disciplinary boundaries. NSF representatives will be on hand to answer questions and to host discipline and program specific breakout sessions to personally engage in discussions with attendees.
