207th Meeting of the American Astronomical Society

About the series

The American Astronomical Society (AAS) will meet at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC for its 2006 Winter Conference.  Over 2,000 professional astronomers will attend.  Exhibits will be displayed with scientific display papers.

Highlights of this year's meeting:

  • The NSF Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellows (AAPFs) Symposium will be held on Saturday and Sunday, January 7-8, 2006 in the Roosevelt Room.  Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM - 6:30 PM.  Sunday morning from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.  This year's meeting will also feature a special discussion on the AST Senior Review.
  • The Division of Astronomical Sciences will hold a special evening session on the Senior Review on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in Salon 1 from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM  Representatives from the Division will present the context for the review and describe the process, and then be joined by members of the review committee to answer questions and listen to community opinions, concerns, and suggestions.   • The Division of Astronomical Sciences will hold its NSF Town Meeting on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 in Salon 2 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
